Evidence of optical rectification in Ag nanoparticles and its application in rectenna device

Optical rectification is investigated for its potential in optical rectenna technology. Careful analysis of the second-order nonlinear susceptibility allows distinguishing rectification from artifacts. A demonstration using silver and gold nanoparticles on a substrate is presented.
