Organic silicone rubber composite foams were prepared using methylvinyl silicone rubber(MVQ) as matrix, graphene oxide(GO) as reinforcer flame retardant, and the effects of amount of GO on mechanical properties and flame retardency of the composite foams were investigated. The results showed that the density of the composite foams increased, tensile and compressive properties improved, limiting oxygen index (LOI) increased, and the droplet and fuming phenomenon decreased with increasing GO amounts. When GO amount was 5 phr, the tensile strength, tear strength, and compressive strength at deformation 50% of the composite foams increased by 6.6,4.7 and 12.3 times, respectively, compared with pure MVQ foam. Moreover, the LOI was also improved from 22.3% to 26.5%,and no droplet and fuming phenomenon occurred, the flame retardancy improved evidently.
