摘要
The present catalogue documents the diversity of Geometroidea in India, comprising 2,205 species distributed across 479 genera, 13 subfamilies, and 4 families, representing approximately 8.80% of the world’s known species of the superfamily. Among the families, Geometridae is the most diverse, with 2,100 species in 445 genera, followed by Uraniidae (95 species in 27 genera), Epicopeiidae (9 species in 6 genera), and Pseudobistonidae (1 species in 1 genus). Sematuridae is absent from the Indian fauna, as it largely restricted to the New World. At the subfamily level, Ennominae (895 species in 189 genera) is the most speciose, followed by Larentiinae (565 species in 128 genera) and Geometrinae (309 species in 82 genera). Epidesmiinae (Geometridae) and Heraculinae (Pseudobistonidae) are each represented by a single species in India. Zamarada dilata Walia & Sharanpreet, 2014 is a junior primary homonym of Zamarada dilata Fletcher, 1974, and is here replaced by Zamarada himachalica N. Singh, Sarkar, Mollah & Joshi, nomen novum. This compilation provides a comprehensive baseline for future taxonomic, biogeographic, and conservation studies on Indian Geometroidea.
