This study was the accumulation of γ -linolenic acid according to evening primrose oil and emulsion evening primrose addition. 30-week-old laying hens were randomly distributed into six groups of ten hens each and maintained in individual layer cages for 12 week of experiment. The were assigned to the six treatments of experimental layer diets containing soybean oil 1.5 %, evening primrose oil 1.5 %, evening primrose oil 3.0 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 1.5 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 3.0 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 5.0 % of diets. laying performance and egg quality varied slightly and insignificantly in the hens with evening primrose oil 1.5 %, evening primrose oil 3.0 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 1.5 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 3.0 %, emulsion evening primrose oil 5.0 % added diets. The accumulation rate of γ-linolenic acid in an egg did not appear in collation control group, but evening primrose oil and emulsion evening primrose oil treatments showed with each higher 10mg/60g eggs.
