Abstract Dihalosilanes (I) and lithiated anthracene (II) produce the dibenzo‐7‐ silanorbornadienes (III) which are irradiated in the presence of dimethylbutadiene (IV) to form the silacyclopentenes (V), together with the disilenes (VI) and the dibenzosilabicycloheptadienes (VII).
