Aim To compare the difference of adenosine between Cordyceps sinensis and Cordyceps mycelium(be abbreviated as mycelium)so as to offer evidence for mycelium used instead of Cordyceps sinensis in clinic. Methods Adenosine was identified by TLC and the content of adenosine was detected by HPLC with Hypersil ODS2 C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm)being used. The mobile phase consisted of methanol-0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. The flow rate was 1.0 ml·min-1.The UV detection wavelength was at 260 nm and the column temperature was 22℃.Results The contents of adenosine in Cordyceps sinensis and mycelium were 0.182 mg·g-1 and 5.435 mg·g-1 respectively. Conclusion It is possible for mycelium to replace of Cordyceps sinensis.
