Effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties and microstructure of 17-4PH martensite stainless steel is introduced,the mechanism of precipitation hardening of the steel is summarized and discussed.It was widely used owing to its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.The traditional heat treatment of the steel is solution and aging.Generally,solution temperature is 1040 ℃.The strength and hardness increase gradually with aging temperature and time increasing,while the impact property decreases.With the intermediate treatment among the solid solution and aging,the impact property and the corrosion resistance are obviously increased due to the refined martensite lath.It is widely believed that the mechanism of precipitation hardening of 17-4PH martensite stainless steel is due to the precipitation of e-Cu,but the analysis about morphology of e-Cu is various.
