Calculating ecological footprints and sustainable development of Shandong Province

The paper sets up the model of calculating province Shandong's ecological footprint and the models of evaluating it's sustainable development on the basis of the ecological footprint theory.Through calculating Shandong's ecological footprint from 1995 to 2004,we find that it's average ecological deficit has gradually increased over the years,and increased 4.36% every year.Through calculating the ecological footprint indexes of GDP?diversity and the development capacity of ecosystem et al,we quantitatively evaluate sustainable development of Shandong's eco-economy system in order to provide decision-making basis for it's sustainable development.
