In-house Experiment Analysis of Rock Properties and Methods of Enhancing ROP for Shale Gas Well in Xuancheng

Xuancheng locates in Lower Yangtze River basin where is rich in shale gas in the country.The formation is ancient and the drilling speed is slow.In this article,with drillability detector and automatic engineering mechanics parameters detector for rock,6 cores from Well Wanning 1 and 2 field were analyzed under in-house experiment of rock properties.The results show that this block is of high-hardness,the average of drillability extreme value is 6.7,maximum 10; and shale content is superhigh,and tensile strength is large.Analyzing data from drillability experiment under mini-cone bit and mine-PDC bit modes,bad drillability is obtained.This article discussing the method of raising ROP from bit selection that is design for personalized PDC bit or choose BDC bit,increasing rotate speed and bit weight per unit area based on equation for drilling rate and so on.
