Clinical observation on the thalidomide combined with the dexamethasone in treatment of multiple myeloma

Objective To observe the effect of thalidomide combined with dexamethasone in treatment of multiple myeloma(MM).Methods According to the tolerance of patients,the dose of thalidomide was gradually increased form 100mg/d to 400mg/d.Dexamethasone was given for 15mg/d,1-4 days once a month. Results 5 of 18 cases with MM partially released,10 cases improved,and 3 cases was ineffective.The total effective rate was 83.3%(15/18).There were no side effects not to be tolerated.Conclusion Combination of the thalidomide with dexamethasone on treatment of multiple myeloma shows obvious effects.
