The specimens of concrete cores were drilled from different elements of a pier, and the content of calcium carbonate and chloride distribution from the specimens were measured, based on which, the influences of local environment on carbonation and chloride distribution were analyzed. The test result shows that the carbonation rate is slow in extremely humid environment, and the incomplete carbonation zone is dominate in carbonation zone, the depth of carbonation tends to be a limit.Chloride ions distribution is influenced greatly by local environment, and dry-wet cycles can change the chloride profile evidently and form a constant content of chloride at the layer of concrete. It conforms to the diffusion mechanism only in a certain depth.
