Effects of I- on photochemical degradation of alizarin red

The photochemical degradation of alizarin red is studied by the static method. Experimental results show that UV light (30W) can’t degradate 25mg/L alizarin red, I- can accelerate the photochemical degradation of 25mg/L alizarin red. I- with 10-4 mol/L and 10-3 mol/L can evidently accelerate the photochemical degradation of alizarin red with 25 mg/L, 30mg/L, 35 mg/L. So I- can be used to degradate alizarin red.
