Tissue cell culturing technology was adopted to study the anti-NDV effect of the extract from the ficus carica leaves, the effective ingredient was extracted from the leaves of Ficus carica, and the anti-virus effect was observed on Hep-2, BHK_(21) and CEF cells. It was found that the extract of Ficus carica leaves showed remarkable inhibitory and killing effects on the Newcastle disease virus. The MTC was 0.5 mg/ml, and the TDO of extract of leaves of Ficus carica with ethanol and with water was 55 mg/ml and 50mg/ml respectively. The experimental TI was 1100 and 100 respectively. It concluded that the extract from Ficus carica leave has effect on NDV and it provide the wide application future in the field of medicine, food and drug.
