摘要
A flexible, co-planar waveguide fed antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is presented in this work. The antenna is made of thin polyimide material with dielectric constant of 3.5 and its thickness is 0.05 mm. It offers desired flexibility and ease of integration into clothing. The initial design is taken as a monopole radiator with slot to create the resonance in the range of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz and rectangular slit in the ground plane is used for bandwidth enhancement. The designed structure has an overall size of 20 x 20 x 0.05 mm3, obtained a better radiation characteristic at 10 dB return loss at whole UWB spectrum from 3.78 to 11.42 GHz. The fractional bandwidth more than 100% is achieved with overall gain of around 3dBi. The simulation result displays that the designed antenna can be used in a variety of UWB applications are used to prove the performance of the proposed antenna. The designed antenna design is low profile and compact structure. Better return loss characteristics is achieved when optimizing the width W5 of the rectangular slit in ground plane. The fundamental characteristics of the designed antenna, including reflection coefficient, surface current distribution, radiation patterns are simulated and presented.
