Patchouli Alcohol, a Compound from Pogostemon cablin , Inhibits Obesity

-catenin in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Oral gavage of patchouli alcohol led to a significant reduction of body weight and fat accumulation in the mice fed with HFD. Transcriptome analysis indicates that smad7 is most highly activated gene in patchouli alcohol-treated 3T3-L1 cells. Patchouli alcohol possesses health benefit effect through inhibiting adipogenesis and fat tissue development.
