Mediastinal Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Revealed on 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT

Abstract Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma is a rare vascular sarcoma, and it rarely leads abnormal serum calcium. Here we presented a 61-year-old woman with suspected tumor-induced osteomalacia who underwent 68 Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT to detect possible culprit tumor. The images showed a hypermetabolic paraspinal soft nodule in the right upper posterior mediastinum, which suggested a somatostatin receptor–positive tumor. The tumor was resected and pathologically confirmed as epithelioid hemangioendothelioma.
