Effect of nickel oxidation state on the structural and electrochemical characteristics of lithium-rich layered oxide cathodes

Increasing the Ni oxidation state in Li-rich layered oxides enhances the cyclability and reduces the voltage decay due to a decreased degree of Mn⁴⁺ reduction and layered-to-spinel transformation.
