摘要
In article number 1801789, Junjie Kang, Feng Zhou, Xin Jia, and co-workers demonstrate a metal-phenolic networks film with two-layer structure via tribochemistry. The fabrication of films is induced by friction, showing a cooperation of mechanical and chemical effects on various metal surface. At the bottom of films, the chelation of tannic acid active moieties and metal ions is the dominant structure. With the thickness of films increasing, the structure changes into the hydrogen bonding or π–π stacking interaction among oligomers of tannic acid active moieties, which is attributed to the declined concentration of metal ions. Such on-site surface modification approach can open a promising route for the design of functional coatings in mechanosynthesis.
