Study on the Antioxidant Activities of Purified Flavonoids and the Main Constituents from Trollius chinensis Bunge

Objective To study the antioxidant activities of the purified extract of total flavonoids and the main constituents from Trollius chinensis Bunge.Methods The antioxidant activities of purified extract,orientin,vitexin and 2″-O-β-L-galactopyranosyl orientin(OGA) in comparison to Vitamin C were measured against DPPH radical and ABTS radical cation.Results The IC50(μg/ml) order of the antioxidant activities determined against DPPH and ABTS+ was as follows: Vitamin C(24.01±0.02)orientin(30.56±0.31)vitexin(35.08±0.15)OGA(36.39±0.10)purified extract(44.25±0.39),Orientin(41.94±0.23) Vitamin C(48.34±0.11)OGA(52.25±0.47)purified extract(59.90±0.26) vitexin(64.94±0.56).Conclusion The purified extract and the main constituents from Trollius chinensis all show good antioxidant activities.
