Comparison of human multipotent mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow and adipose tissue

Objective To compare the biological character of adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells(AD-MSCs) with bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells(BM-MSCs).Methods BM-MSCs and AD-MSCs were separated and cultured in vitro,then proliferative capacities were compared by protracting growth curve,cell phenotypes were analysed with flow cytometry,and multilineage differentiation abilities were compared with those of induced culture cells.Results Similar cell morphology,phenotype and multilineage differentiation abilities were showed in AD-MSCs and BM-MSCs,and proliferative potential of AD-MSCs was higher than those of BM-MSCs.Conclusion Human adipose tissue may become a new source of mesenchymal stem cells.
