Objective To investigate the situation of patients with genital suspected herpes simplex virus(HSV) infection in Xintang,Guangzhou. Methods To test herpes simplex virus(HSV-I/II) of 1202 cases of outpatients by fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction technology(FQ-PCR).Results The positive rate of 1202 casas of outpatients were 0.67%(8/1202) with HSV-I and 23.46%(282/1202) with HSV-II.The total positive rate of HSV infection were 24.13%(290/1202).There was significant difference between the positive detection rate of HSV-I and HSV-II(P0.01).The positive rate of HSV in male and female patients were 24.62%(193/748) and 23.21%(97/418),respectively.There was no significant difference of the positive detection rate between male and female(P0.05).Conclusion ① The detection rate of HSV in the outpatients with suspected genital herpes HSV infection was high in Xintang area, which nearly a quarter. The infection rate was difference in different types of HSV,and the main type was HSV-II.The result illustrated that clinical diagnosis should pay attention to detect HSV in outpatients with suspected genital herpes virus in order to avoid misdiagnosis.② There was no difference of HSV infection between male and female.③ The features of FQ-PCR were simplicity, high sensitivity, fast in detection of HSV and it is worth for clinical application.
