Analysis and Design of a Latched Comparator with Low Kick-back Noise

As to reduce the offset reference voltage which caused by kick-back noise,the speed of the comparator is analyzed,a latched comparator with low kick-back noise is designed.The comparator includes a preamplifier and a dynamic latch.By applying the positive feedback technique,a sufficient gain as well as speed of the preamplifier is achieved.Simulation with Hspice in a 0.6 μm technology shows that the comparator has achieved a maximum operating frequency of 200 MHz,a resolution up to 8 bit,operating with a single 5.5 V supply.It dissipates 55 μW of power and meet the need of 200 MS/s High-precision flash ADC.
