Review of Henri Lefebvre's The Production of Space

Henri Lefebvre's The Production of Space is one of the most important contemporary works on space.In this book he advances a special theory of social space to explain space with society and history as well as society and history with space.He uses his regressive-progression of spatial practice-representations of space-representational spaces to emphasize the dialectical relation between society,history and space.It is not only a rebellion against the traditional western epistemology,an attempt of spatializing Marxism dialectic,but the natural result of the development of his own theory as well—directing his theory to spatial revolution in order to create a space of differences.
