Objective To explore the effect of Astragaloside IV on apoptosis mediated by endouplasmic reticulum stress( ERS) in a rat model of acute lung injury( ALI) induced by lipopolysaccharide( LPS). Methods Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into control group,ALI group, and ASIV group,10 in each group. The rats in the control group were treated with normal saline. The rats in the ALI group were treated with LPS( 5mg /kg). The rats in the ASIV groups were pretreated with ASIV( 3,6,12 mg /kg) for 7days.After 12 h injection, the change of wet- dry weight( W /D) were determined. The expressions of glucose- regulated protein 78( GRP78) and C/EBP homologous protein( CHOP) were determined by Western blot. Results Compar2 ed with the control group, the W / D was increased( P ﹤ 0. 01),the expression of GRP78 and CHOP were increased in the ALI group( P ﹤ 0. 01). Compared with ALI group, the W /D was decreased( P ﹤ 0. 01),the expression of GRP78 and CHOP were decreased in the ASIV groups( P ﹤0. 01). Conclusion Astragaloside IV has a protective effect on LPS- induced acute lung injury, which is partially via endouplasmic reticulum stress.
