Antimicrobial Effects of Total Alkaloids Extracted from Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim

The antimicrobial effects of total alkaloids extracted from Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim were studied by using disc diffusion method and serial two-fold dilutions method.The results showed that total alkaloids from Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim have wide antibacterial spectrum.The minimum inhibitory concentrations(MIC) of total alkaloids from Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim against Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus subtilis,Aspergillus niger,Saccharomyce scerevisiae were 3.91,3.91,7.81,15.63,and 31.25 mg/mL,respectively.The thermalstability experiments showed that antimicrobial activities of the total alkaloids were stable to temperature.
