PRACTlCE OF DIRECT OXYGEN DETERMINATION TECHNIQUE IN STEELMAKING PROCESS

Practices of direct oxygen determination technique in BOF,open hearth and EAF using home-made oxygen probe were described in this paper. By means of statistic analysis of the results,the equations for calculation of carbon and manganese contents in the liquid steel from the measured oxygen activity were obtained,by which the carbon and manganese contents can be determined “in situ” accurately,rapidly and simply. The reblowing model for BOF operations was also discussed.
