Optical Beam Bistability and Hysteresis in onlinear anosuspensions

An optical bistability and hysteresis were observed in the LaF3:Er:Yb nanosuspension. It was driven by the light-induced change in a local particle concentration and explained as a threshold behavior of the nonlinear four waves mixing.
