Transition metal-catalyzed cycloadditions through zwitterionic π-allylmetal intermediates have been extensively investigated. Meanwhile, zwitterionic π-allyl palladium plays a main role in asymmetric (3 + 2) cycloadditions and have also been successfully demonstrated to be a versatile synthon for the construction of five membered carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds. This chapter highlights representative works based on π-allyl palladium zwitterions.
