摘要
In this work, a new comprehensive dataset for the onset of nucleated boiling (ONB) point in flow boiling of 50% vol ethylene glycol-water mix is presented. The experimental setup basically consists of a stainless-steel plate, electrically heated and embedded in a horizontal rectangular channel flow. The new dataset ranges the following experimental conditions: bulk velocities: 0.2 ∼ 0.8 []; mass fluxes: 243 ∼ 1000 [²]; subcooling degrees: 21 ∼ 113 []; and pressures: 130 ∼ 225 []. The experimental matrix was repeated for four different orientations: 0, 180, 225 and 270°. In addition to the new data generated and given here as an annex, previous datasets extracted from 12 previously published works have been considered covering six different fluids in total. All the experimental data was previously evaluated using existing correlations in the literature. Finally, a new dimensionless correlation has been developed with relatively low error figures. Further work is required to accommodate different channel configurations, effects of morphology or the effect of wettability.
