Selective electrooxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural at low working potentials promoted by 3D hierarchical Cu(OH)2@Ni3Co1-layered double hydroxide architecture with oxygen vacancies

An effective and stable catalyst with 3D hierarchical architecture was synthesized by electrodepositing Ni 3 Co 1 -LDH nanosheets on copper foam-supported Cu(OH) 2 nanorods. The catalyst can be used to prepare FDCA continuously, showing great potential in the electrochemical conversion of biomass.
