摘要
Summary form only given. Investigations on the plasma motion of a small Mather-type plasma focus device (20 kV, 18 kJ) operated at a higher D/sub 2/ filling pressure (4.0 Torr) than the optimum one (2.5 Torr) for neutron emission by using laser differential interferometer show that the current sheath (CS) structure and pinching dynamics are the two factors which are responsible for the low and largely deviated neutron yield at this pressure.
