摘要
Low scattering surfaces made of subwavelength structures are of broad interest in practical engineering in recent years. In this paper we investigate theoretically and experimentally the coding metasurface for cloaking applications. A 1-bit and 2-bit metasurface with two/four phase states has been considered in this design, resulting in two/four kinds of unit with different geometric dimensions. We show that the metasurface can greatly decrease the backward scattering due to the diffusion effect. By use of the coding metasurface, the far field scattering pattern of metallic objects can be efficiently controlled, which opens up a new route for low scattering surface design in the microwave region.
