Skeletal editing of anthranils via O-to-CN transmutation: access to ring-expanded quinazolines

A novel skeletal editing strategy of anthranils for the direct O-to-CN transmutation has been developed. This transformation enables the synthesis of ring-expanded quinazolines through three distinct approaches under metal-free conditions.
