Clinical observation on adverse effects of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatic carcinoma

Objective To evaluate the adverse effects of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) for hepatic carcinoma to provide the basis for its clinical prevention and treatment.Methods Adverse effects of 81 cases with postoperative recurrence of hepatic carcinoma(in Child-pugh A grade) undergoing TACE were retrospectively analyzed,with 267 cases of newly diagnosed as primary hepatic carcinoma in advanced stage undergoing of TACE in the same period for comparison.Results ALT and AST of recurrence group returned to previous levels in one week after TACE,while STB and DBIL,STP,A,and ChE in two weeks.No severe adverse effect was observed.However,the changse of liver function indicators in advanced group all returned to previous levels in two weeks after TACE.Conclusions In Child-pugh A grade of hepatic carcinoma,the damage of liver function is reversible after TACE.However,the damage of liver synthetic function and reserve function last for a longer period of time,and the recovery rate are slower.
