Low dose simvastatin as maintenance treatment for hyperlipemia

Objective To observe the effect of low-dose simvastatin as maintenance treatment for hyperlipemia after lipid-lowering with high-dose simvastatin.Methods 85 cases of hyperlipimia were administrated simvastatin 40mg per day for 8 weeks,and then the low-dose(20mg per day or every other day)simvastatin as maintenance treatment for 12 weeks.Results After 8 weeks of larger-dose simvastatin,12 weeks maintenance treatment with lower-dose simvastatin can remain lipids level.Conclusion Low-dose simvastatin as maintenance treatment can remain lipids level actively.
