Value of CT Cystography in the Diagnosis of Bladder Rupture

Objective To study the value of retrograde CT cystography in the diagnosis of bladder rupture.Methods The data of 26 patients with bladder rupture undergoing retrograde CT cystography and surgical intervention were retrospectively reviewed.Results The diagnosis of bladder rupture was made by retrograde CT cystography in all the patients,including 19 cases of extraperitoneal bladder rupture and 7 cases of intraperitoneal bladder rupture.The results of CT cystography were concordant with those of conventional cystography and surgical exploration,with an accuracy rate of 100%.Conclusion Retrograde CT cystography is equivalent to conventional cystography with regard to the accuracy of detecting the bladder rupture,and it might serve as the first choice of diagnostic modalities.
