Apply Neurovascular Island Flap from the Same Finger Advancing Distally to Repair Defect of Pulp

Objective To study clinical effects of neurovascular island flap from the same finger advancing distally to repair defect of pulp. Methods From February 2009 to February 2012, a total of 12 cases were treated with neurovascular island flaps advancing distally for pulp defects. Results All flaps survived postoperatively after 3-21 months follow-up, 14 months averagely. The reconstructed pulp appeared full in shape, feel good. The injured fingers' flexor and extensor activities were well. Conclusion We concluded neurovascular island flap from the same finger is the best option to repair pulp defects.
