Determination of roxithromycin in roxithromycin capsules by UV spectrophotometry

Objective To develop a UV method for the determination of roxithromycin. Methods roxithromycin was determined at 482 nm and blank control had little interference. Results The calibration curve was linear in the range of 16.66～50.00 μg/mL for roxithromycin and the correlation coefficient was 0.9999, The average recovery was 100.2%, with RSD of 0.5% (n=9). Conclusion The method is simple, accurate and was suitable for the determination of roxithromycin preparations.
