Incertae sedis

The genera Rhodothermus and Salinibacter were previously assigned to the “ Crenotrichaceae ”, but subsequent analyses transferred Crenothrix to the Proteobacteria . Phylogenetic analyses revealed that they are only distantly related to any of the previously described orders within the Bacteroidetes . In view of their ambiguous status, they have been assigned to their own order incertae sedis . Bacteroidetes / Cytophagia / Incertae sedis II
