Aggression in male and female university students

Objective: To examine the level of aggression in male and female university students. Methodology: The study contained 200 university students of Islamabad (male=100 and female =100) with mean age of 21.79±2.970 years. Data were collected with the help of purposive sampling. Demographic form and Buss Perry scale for aggression were used to measure the level of aggression (anger, physical aggression, verbal aggression and hostility). For data analysis t- test were computed using SPSS Version 21. Result: There was a significant difference in level of aggression in male and female university students. Anger and physical aggression was high in male students, however female had higher level of hostility and verbal aggression. Conclusion: Male students had higher level of anger and physical aggression but female students were higher in hostility and verbal aggression. Counseling services may be introduced at university level to address aggression among students with the help of anger management technique.
