摘要
In this work, we report the synthesis of a novel macrocyclic arene, named pyromellitic diimide-extended resorcin[6]arene (1), achieved by introducing the pyromellitic diimide units into the per-methylated resorcin[6]arene scaffold. Single-crystal analysis reveals a propeller blade structure for 1. Host 1 can capture not only volatile iodine in the air but also inorganic iodine-containing species I3- ions in water with fast adsorption speed and high uptake capacity. Moreover, 1 exhibits excellent recyclability and potential as a stationary phase in column setups, which opens up new avenues for the purification of iodine-contaminated water.
