摘要
When examining cutting edge battery technologies, it may be tricky to pinpoint from where performance issues arise. This poster discusses the application of Impedance Spectroscopy and Distribution of Relaxation Times analysis to isolate changes within a novel all-organic redox flow battery system. Distribution of Relaxation Times is a method to time resolve impedance outputs into a probabilistic or statistical relation between electrochemical process time scale and process impedance. As part of this work, changes to the interface between the electrodes and the anolyte or catholyte were exposed, and beneficial or detrimental effects of these changes to the system were determined. This analysis then offered avenues for improvement to the overall system performance. By isolating the impedance of each component of the system, deep understanding of the operation of the system is unearthed.
