Synthesis of Heterodiarylmethanes via Metallaphotoredox Decarboxylative Arylation

Abstract A metallaphotoredox-catalyzed synthesis of heterodiarylmethanes using mild reaction conditions, commercially available substrates, and bench-stable catalysts is demonstrated. Moderate yields are obtained, and further derivatization of the newly formed benzylic position is shown.
