Comparative Researh of Single Breath and Intra Breath in Dectection of Pulmonary Diffusing Capacity in Supine Position

Objective To compare the single and intra breath methods in determination of pulmonary diffusing capacity in supine position.Methods Two hundred fifty-four adult inpatients were given,respectively,single or intra breath to determine diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide of lung(DLCO) in supine position.DLCO measured values,DLCO%,DLCO/VA and DLCO/VA% of 2 methods were compared.Results There was no significant difference in DLCO,DLCO%,DLCO/VA or DLCO/VA% between 2 methods.Conclusion Intra breath method detecting pulmonary diffusing capacity,simple and reproducible,is more acceptable for patients in supine position.
