Early alloimmunization in an infant to red cell antigens—Rare but possible in the ‘right’ circumstances

HLH is an inflammatory, 'hyperimmune' state, and alloimmunization is more likely when inflammation is present. If significant inflammation is present, transfusions should be avoided if possible.
