Perovskite type La0·8K0·2MnO3 (LKMO) was prepared by citric acid sol–gel method. X-ray diffraction, SEM and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller were used to characterise the products. The non-thermal plasma assisted catalyst (NPAC) system was established by combining the non-thermal plasma (NTP) reactor with LKMO catalyst. Following up on the bench test, NOx reductions in diesel emissions were investigated with the NPAC system. Results showed that NOx conversion reaches its highest level at 300°C with LKMO catalyst and at 200°C with the NPAC system. Improved catalytic properties of LKMO can be explained by the combination of the porous structure and the active species generated by NTP.
