A field experiment was carried out to study the effects of three different rice straw returning methods (straw mulching, straw burning and straw incorporating ) on N_2O emissions from wheat field. The results showed that the values of N_2O emissions were ranked in the order of straw mulchingwithout straw returning (control)straw incorporatingstraw burning. Compared with control treatment, straw mulching increased N_2O emissions significantly (p0.05), while straw incorporating and straw burning decreased N_2O emissions significantly (p0.05). No significant correlations were found between N_2O flux and soil temperature, while there existed significant positive correlations between N_2O flux and soil water content. Compared with control treatment, straw incorporating increased wheat yield significantly and straw burning and straw mulching had no significant effect on wheat yield.
