Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of new MRI for brachial plexus preganglionic injury. Methods The clinical data and MRI examination results in 19 patients with dubitable brachial plexus preganglionic injury were analyzed, and the data and examination results were compared with those of operation and electromyography. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of new MRI in diagnosis of brachial plexus preganglionic injury were statistically analyzed. Results Among 19 patients, there were 15 cases of brachial plexus preganglionic injury, among 67 pair of injured brachial plexus nerves,55 pair of them were detected by MRI.The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of new MRI in diagnosis of brachial plexus preganglionic injury were 82.09%(55/67),40.00%(8/20)and 84.00%(63/75),respectively.Conclusion New MRI imaging method can clearly show the structures and direction of brachial plexus nerves, and can exactly diagnose brachial plexus preganglionic injury, which is a new MRI imaging method in diagnosis of brachial plexus preganglionic injury.
