Controlled synthesis of larger crystal ZSM-5 zeolites using different templates

ZSM-5 zeolites with similar Si/Al ratio were synthesized using different templates(tetrapropylammonium bromide(TPABr),n-tetrabutylamine(TBA),ethyldiamine(EDA))and no template(NT) under hydrothermal conditions.The samples were characterized by XRD and SEM to investigate effects of the templates and difference in crystal size of the ZSM-5 samples.A method for controlled synthesis of ZSM-5 with moderate crystal size was consequently proposed.ZSM-5 zeolites with evenly larger crystal size(about 10 μm) were synthesized using composite templates.
