Custom plating of nanoscale semiconductor/catalyst junctions for photoelectrochemical water splitting

Templated nanoelectrodeposition on photoactive n-Si is introduced here for the customization of nanoscale inhomogeneous Schottky junctions. We demonstrate the use of these surfaces as photoanodes for water dissociation.
